Dr. Leontina-Elena Filipiuc graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy and from the Faculty of Computer Science at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași. She is a Specialist in Clinical Pharmacy, holds a PhD in Medical Sciences, and currently serves as Scientific Researcher III within CEMEX – Advanced Research-Development Center in Experimental Medicine “Prof. Ostin C. Mungiu”.
Her research activity focuses on experimental pharmacology, particularly on the study of the endocannabinoid system, the assessment of the toxicity and efficacy of synthetic and natural cannabinoids, and the development of novel therapeutic approaches for chronic neuropathic pain. Her doctoral thesis, entitled “Studies on Synthetic and Natural Cannabinoids in Chronic Neuropathic Pain”, was awarded the distinction Excellent.
She has been involved in several national and international research projects in the fields of pain pharmacology, toxicology, and preclinical evaluation of bioactive compounds. The outcomes of her scientific work have been consistently disseminated through publications in Q1 ISI-indexed journals in the field of Pharmacology.
In parallel with her research activity, she has further developed her expertise through specialized training courses in experimental pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and quality management in research laboratories, as well as through participation in international congresses and educational programs dedicated to pain research and neurosciences.
